How Employees Can Check Monthly PF Deposits and Missing Contributions

How Employees Can Check Monthly PF Deposits and Missing Contributions

Your employer may take PF money from your salary, but that does not automatically prove it has been deposited.

Employers are supposed to send the money to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation within 15 days after each month ends.

You can check this by logging into the EPFO member portal with your Universal Account Number.

The EPF passbook shows your contribution, your employer’s contribution and, where applicable, the pension contribution.

Compare these entries with your salary slips every few months.

Deposits may take some time to appear, so check after the normal processing period.

If money is still missing, first speak with your employer’s payroll or human resources department.

You can also file a grievance with EPFO or submit a written complaint to PF authorities.

Delayed deposits can lead to interest and penalties for the employer, while members are entitled to the applicable interest on their contributions.
