Delhi Deploys Spike Strips and Barricades for CJP Protest

The Cockroach Janta Party planned a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10.

It wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over alleged problems with voter-list changes.

Police prepared for the protest by placing barricades and spike strips near Mohan Cooperative Estate.

More than 20,000 police and other security personnel were deployed across Delhi.

Police detained several people, including Dhruv Rathee and CJP members, as well as more than 500 other protesters.

Entry and exit gates at 45 metro stations were closed.

More than 250 trains scheduled to arrive at two Delhi stations were cancelled.

These steps were taken to maintain law and order during the protest.
