Potential Tata Sons Listing Could Ease SP Group Debt

Potential Tata Sons Listing Could Ease SP Group Debt

The Shapoorji Pallonji Group owns a large share of Tata Sons.

Tata Sons is currently privately held, so selling or borrowing against that share is difficult.

A possible Tata Sons stock-market listing could make the share easier to sell or use as security for loans.

This could help the SP Group manage its estimated ₹55,000–60,000 crore debt.

The group recently refinanced ₹21,500 crore at high interest rates.

It hopes future refinancing will reduce those costs.

The SP Group and Tata representatives had also discussed other ways to provide cash without a listing.

A listing might reduce the need for those negotiations.

It could also give the SP Group more influence in some Tata Sons shareholder decisions.
