Air India Seeks Chinese Airspace Access Amid Pakistan Ban
Air India, a big airline in India, is having a hard time because Pakistan is not letting Indian planes fly through its airspace.
This makes their flights longer and more expensive.
So, Air India asked the Indian government if they could fly through a part of China called Xinjiang instead.
This would help them save money and time.
But China hasn't said yes or no yet.
Air India is also asking the Indian government for some money to help them until Pakistan lets them fly again.
They have a lot of money problems, including taxes they owe and expensive new planes they ordered.
Air India requested access to Chinese airspace in Xinjiang to shorten flight routes and reduce costs.
The request comes amid Pakistan's ongoing ban on Indian carriers, causing financial strain.
Air India estimates the Pakistan airspace closure costs it $455 million annually.
The airline is also seeking temporary financial support from the Indian government.
China has not yet responded to the request, referring queries to relevant authorities.
