Jeet’s New Historical Drama Explores Revolution After Independence
The film tells the story of Ananta Singh, who once fought for India’s freedom.
After Independence, he becomes unhappy with how the system works.
In the 1960s, he is linked to daring robberies and becomes wanted by the police.
Jeet plays Ananta at different stages of his life.
Inspector Durga Roy tries to find him.
The movie asks whether Ananta is a hero, a rebel or a criminal.
It does not give the audience one simple answer.
The review says the film is powerful and ambitious, though some parts are slow and overly dramatic.
Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat premiered at PVR-INOX South City with Bengali film personalities and Jeet’s fans in attendance.
Directed by Pathikrrit Basu, the film follows revolutionary Ananta Singh across two periods of his life.
Jeet portrays Ananta as he moves from freedom fighter to fugitive after a series of 1960s robberies.
Tota Roy Choudhury plays Inspector Durga Roy, who pursues Ananta in a cat-and-mouse conflict.
The review praises Jeet’s layered performance and the film’s ambition, while noting over-explained ideas, a slower second half and heightened melodrama.

How Ananta should be understood
A Complex Revolutionary
The film and its creators present Ananta as a human being driven by ideals, anger and his own sense of justice, rather than simply glorifying or condemning him.
A Fugitive Criminal
Authorities and others view Ananta as a dacoit or criminal because he becomes associated with daring robberies and is pursued by police.
The film’s execution
A Complex Revolutionary
The film’s sincerity, historical setting, scale and Jeet’s layered performance make it an ambitious addition to Bengali mainstream cinema.
