Chornobyl Nuclear Plant Loses Power
The Chornobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which is famous for a very big accident in the past, lost all its outside electricity on Tuesday.
This happened because of fighting in the area.
The United Nations' organization that watches over nuclear safety said that important electricity stations and power lines were affected.
This is a big deal because nuclear power plants need electricity to stay safe.
Other nuclear power plants in Ukraine also had problems with their power lines.
The attack also left the Ukrainian parliament building without electricity, heating, and water.
Chornobyl nuclear power plant lost all off-site power on January 20.
The loss of power was due to widespread military activity in the area.
Several Ukrainian electrical substations vital for nuclear safety were affected.
Power lines to some other nuclear power plants were also impacted.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported the incident on X (formerly Twitter).
