53 Congolese Refugees Die in Burundi
Many people from Congo had to leave their homes because of fighting.
They went to a nearby country called Burundi.
Sadly, 53 of these people died.
Some died from a sickness called cholera, and others died because they didn't have enough food.
A lot of people, more than 100,000, have left Congo for Burundi since the fighting got worse.
The government of Congo is trying to help these people by giving them food and medicine.
But the situation is very hard, and not many people are talking about it.
53 Congolese refugees have died in Burundi, including 25 from cholera and 6 from malnutrition.
Over 100,000 Congolese have fled to Burundi since fighting intensified in early December.
The UNHCR is working with partners to investigate the causes of the deaths.
Congo's government is leading a humanitarian mission to aid displaced Congolese in Burundi.
The situation is described as a forgotten crisis by South Kivu province's governor.
