SRFTI Students Continue Class Boycott Until Accused Are Arrested

Students at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute are still staying away from classes.

They say they will return only after people accused of attacking students are arrested.

The institute's vice-chancellor condemned the violence and said safety measures were being strengthened.

Students said those words did not explain clearly what was being done to protect them.

Some first-year students are worried about returning to rented rooms away from campus.

The institute has opened other rooms for them to use for now.

A state investigation team has started looking into the September 27 clashes and submitted an initial report.

The ABGP denies the students' allegations, and an institute official has asked students to wait for the investigation.
