Andhra Pradesh Launches AI Flood Alert System
The Andhra Pradesh Government has launched a new system called City Flood Alert to help predict floods in Vijayawada.
This system uses artificial intelligence and satellite maps to forecast floods up to 48 hours in advance.
It identifies areas at risk and sends alerts to officials so they can take action before floods happen.
The system was developed by the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) along with experts from IIT Gandhinagar.
It uses data from the past 30 years to make accurate predictions.
The goal is to make Vijayawada more resilient to floods and protect people and property.
Andhra Pradesh Government launched City Flood Alert, an AI-powered flood prediction system for Vijayawada.
The system integrates AI, satellite mapping, predictive analytics, and hydrological modeling for accurate flood forecasts.
Developed by RTGS in collaboration with APSDMA and IIT Gandhinagar, the platform provides real-time early warnings.
City Flood Alert can forecast rainfall up to 48 hours in advance and flash floods up to 6 hours before occurrence.
The system uses historical flood data and digital elevation models to identify flood-prone areas and issue automated alerts to authorities.
