Bessent Says US Could Control 80% of Global Computing

Scott Bessent said the United States may have most of the world’s computing power by 2028.

He estimated that the US share could rise from about 60% in 2025 to 80%.

Computing power is the ability of computers to process large amounts of information.

Bessent said artificial intelligence is helping businesses in areas such as factories, medicine and shipping.

He credited the Trump administration’s rules, taxes and energy policies for encouraging investment.

More AI use is creating demand for data centers, computer chips and electricity.

Construction workers are also building the facilities needed for AI systems.

Bessent said this growth could create jobs and strengthen American industry.
