UP Power Distribution Loss Falls as Profitable Feeders Rise

Uttar Pradesh says its electricity system has become more efficient.

The percentage of electricity lost during distribution fell between 2020-21 and 2025-26.

Losses measured under another system, called AT&C loss, also decreased.

More electricity feeders began earning more money than they lost.

The government used special high-loss clusters to monitor problem areas.

These efforts covered millions of consumers and thousands of transformers.

Officials said they recovered unpaid electricity bills and issued new connections.

They credited regular reviews, data monitoring and accountability for the improvements.
