Maoists Surrender in MP and Chhattisgarh

Maoists Surrender in MP and Chhattisgarh

Some people who used to be Maoists gave up their old ways and surrendered to the police in two different places, Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh and Sukma in Chhattisgarh.

In Balaghat, 13 Maoists surrendered, but they don't have important papers like birth certificates or ID cards, so they can't get the money and benefits the government is offering yet.

The police are helping them get these papers made.

In Sukma, four Maoists, including two women, surrendered their weapons and ammunition.

The government has a plan to help these people start new lives by giving them money and other benefits.

The police are working with village leaders and other officials to make sure everything is in order.

The surrender in Sukma is seen as a big success in the fight against Maoists in that area.
