Bitcoin Slides Amid Fed Rate Hike Fears and ETF Outflows
Bitcoin, the biggest digital currency, dropped about 3% to $63,018 because people worried the U.S. Federal Reserve might raise interest rates.
Higher rates make borrowing more expensive, so investors pull money from risky assets like Bitcoin.
A company called Citadel Securities said the Fed could raise rates by a quarter point.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds lost almost half a billion dollars in three days, showing investors are nervous.
Analysts say Bitcoin needs to stay above $72,001, its 200‑day moving average, to feel safe again.
The drop also hurt Ether, the second‑largest cryptocurrency, which fell 4%.
Overall, the market is cautious because of the possibility of higher borrowing costs and other economic worries.
Bitcoin fell 2.9% to $63,018, its lowest level in 11 days.
Ether dropped 4.1% as risk sentiment weakened.
Citadel Securities predicts a 0.25% Fed rate hike, raising borrowing‑cost fears.
US Bitcoin ETFs saw $476.9 million in outflows over three days.
Analysts say Bitcoin must stay above $72,001 (200‑day moving average) to regain confidence.
