Hyderabad Heritage Monuments Deteriorate Due to Funding Issues
Some old and important buildings in Hyderabad are falling apart because they need repairs.
One of them, the Old Idgah, has been waiting for fixes for six years, and part of its tower even fell down.
The people in charge have asked for help, but there's no money to fix it.
Another building, the Badshahi Ashurkhana, also needs repairs, but they are stopped because of the same reason.
The government says they don't have enough money, which means these old buildings might get even worse if they aren't fixed soon.
Heritage monuments in Hyderabad, including the Old Idgah and Badshahi Ashurkhana, are deteriorating.
Restoration work on the Old Idgah has been stalled for six years due to lack of funds.
The Badshahi Ashurkhana's restoration, entrusted to the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in 2016, has stalled due to funding.
The Old Idgah requires roof and minaret restoration, along with wall plastering to prevent rainwater damage.
The heritage department cited lack of funds as the reason for stalled restoration works.
