Canada Won’t Confirm Probe Into Goldy Brar’s Nijjar Role
Canadian police have heard about a recording linked to Goldy Brar and Paramjit Singh Pamma.
In the recording, Brar allegedly says he helped arrange Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing.
He reportedly gives drug trafficking as the reason.
Police have not said whether the recording is real.
They also have not confirmed whether Brar is being investigated specifically for Nijjar’s killing.
The police say they avoid discussing evidence while court proceedings are continuing.
They say this rule applies to everyone, not just Brar.
The issue is important because Nijjar’s death caused a serious disagreement between India and Canada.
The RCMP acknowledged reports about a purported audio recording involving Goldy Brar and Paramjit Singh Pamma.
In the recording, Brar allegedly claims he and his team orchestrated Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing in June 2023.
Brar purportedly said Nijjar was targeted over alleged drug trafficking and promotion of drug abuse.
The RCMP said it cannot authenticate the recording or comment on investigative steps, evidence, or possible motives.
Police said Brar may be the subject of an investigation but generally confirm investigations only after criminal charges are filed.
