Goa to Host International Purple Fest for Disabilities in October
The International Purple Fest is a big event happening in Goa to celebrate and help people with disabilities.
It's like a party to show that everyone is important and should be included.
The festival, which is hosted by the government and the UN, brings people from all over the world together.
The goal is to change how people think about disabilities and help those with disabilities find jobs.
The government of Goa is offering skills training so that they can be equipped with the education needed to apply for jobs.
This year, they are expecting even more people to come and join the fun!
International Purple Fest-2025 will take place in Goa from October 9-12.
The event promotes inclusivity and empowerment for persons with disabilities (PwDs).
The fest is organized by the Goa Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and the United Nations.
The 2024 edition saw participants from 15 countries, and organizers anticipate more this year.
The Goa government plans to provide skills training to differently-abled individuals, equating it to Class 10 or 12 education.
