Left Front to Discuss Seat-Sharing for Bengal Elections
Imagine different political parties are like teams playing a game.
Before the game (the election), they need to decide who gets to play where.
The Left Front, led by CPI(M), is meeting with allies (like Congress and others) to figure out who will compete for which seats.
Some teams want more seats than others.
The main goal is to agree on how to share the seats fairly so that the teams can work together and have a better chance of winning.
They tried this before in 2021 and 2024 elections.
Now, they are having internal discussions before elections and trying to reach an agreement.
The CPI(M)-led Left Front will meet after the festive season.
The meeting is to discuss seat-sharing arrangements with Congress and AISF.
CPI(M) wants the other Left Front allies to be flexible with their seat demands.
Two Left Front allies previously raised concerns about seat-sharing.
The 2021 assembly polls had a three-cornered alliance.
