Telangana Rights Panel Gives NIMS Three Weeks to Release Pension

Telangana Rights Panel Gives NIMS Three Weeks to Release Pension

Dr. Mantha Srinivas used to be a professor at NIMS.

He retired in 2014, but his pension benefits were still unpaid.

The Telangana government issued an order in 2023 asking for the benefits to be released.

The Telangana Human Rights Commission said the long delay was unacceptable.

It said pension helps people have financial security and dignity after they stop working.

The Commission told the NIMS director to personally make sure the benefits are worked out and paid within three weeks.

The director must also send the Commission a report.

If the order is not followed, the director may have to explain the delay in person.

The case is due to be considered again on November 2, 2026.
