Ghamasaan Review: A Riveting Battle Against Dacoit Brutality
Ghamasaan is a film about a police team trying to catch a dangerous dacoit named Maharaj.
The story takes place in Uttar Pradesh in 2006.
Maharaj hurts and threatens many villagers, while powerful political people help protect him.
Police officer Aditya leads the effort to find him.
Aditya uses careful planning and help from villagers and local performers.
The film shows Maharaj as cruel instead of pretending he is a hero.
Arshad Warsi plays Maharaj, and Pratik Gandhi plays Aditya.
The reviewer likes the acting, storytelling and ending, but feels the film would look better on a bigger screen.
Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Ghamasaan follows a special task force pursuing the feared dacoit Maharaj in 2006 Uttar Pradesh.
Police chief Aditya builds a counter-intelligence network to reach Maharaj, whose political connections protect him.
Arshad Warsi plays Maharaj as a brutal, calculating criminal rather than a Robin Hood-style bandit.
Pratik Gandhi is praised for portraying Aditya as a focused officer who combines discipline with empathy for victims.
The 143-minute film is commended for its pacing, performances and finale, though streaming limits its visual impact and songs interrupt scenes.
