Delhi-NCR Imposes Stage-III GRAP Measures Amid Severe Air Quality
Delhi's air quality is getting worse, and the government has decided to take stronger steps to control pollution.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to reach a very bad level, so they are starting new rules to help.
These rules include stricter controls on pollution sources and better monitoring.
The government is asking everyone to follow these rules to make the air cleaner.
They will keep watching the air quality and make more decisions if needed.
People are asked to help by following the advice given to reduce pollution.
Dense fog is also causing problems, like delays in flights and traffic.
The weather is very cold, but it is expected to get a little warmer soon.
Delhi's AQI rose from 343 on January 15 to 354 on January 16, with forecasts predicting it to reach the 'Severe' category (401-450).
The CAQM invoked Stage-III GRAP measures across the entire NCR to prevent further deterioration of air quality.
Stage-III measures include stricter controls on pollution sources, enhanced monitoring, and intensified enforcement.
These measures are in addition to the existing Stage-I and Stage-II GRAP actions already in force.
Authorities have been directed to ensure strict compliance with GRAP norms and take swift action against violators.
