Yogi Adityanath Highlights ₹109 Crore Benefits for 40,000 Artisans

On August 7, people in India celebrate National Handloom Day.

It marks the Swadeshi movement that began on that day in 1905.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated the day with weavers and artisans.

These are people who make cloth, carpets and other items, many by hand.

The government said it gave more than 40,000 artisans help worth ₹109 crore with electricity costs.

About 30 lakh people in the state earn their living from handloom and powerloom work.

The Chief Minister wants handloom products to reach markets all over the world.

He asked people to give locally made products as gifts.

He handed out awards to skilled weavers and visited an exhibition of their work.

The government is also building textile parks and training centers to help more artisans.
