ED Raids Portfolio Firm for Unregistered Financial Activities
Imagine a company that helps people manage their money.
This company, called Alderbrooke, was taking money from people to invest for them, but they didn't have permission from the government agency called SEBI.
The government found out, and the ED, which investigates financial crimes, searched the company's offices.
They found documents that showed the company collected a lot of money and invested it in the stock market without the proper licenses.
The ED is now investigating to see if the company broke any laws and what happened to the money.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations at four locations in Ahmedabad and Junagadh.
The operations targeted Alderbrooke Portfolio Management Services Pvt. Ltd. for operating without SEBI registration.
The company allegedly collected around Rs 24.38 crore from clients for portfolio management.
Alderbrooke invested in cash and derivatives segments without SEBI registration.
