Junior Doctors’ Strike Delays 2,500 Surgeries Across Andhra Pradesh

Junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh are refusing to work normally because they want a higher stipend.

The government has offered to raise their stipend by 3%.

The doctors say they will return only if the increase is at least 20%.

Their strike has continued since August 18.

More than 2,500 operations have reportedly been postponed.

Hospitals are still treating emergency patients, but fewer doctors are handling more work.

Patients are waiting longer for registrations, consultations and tests.

Talks between the doctors and the government have not yet produced an agreement.
