Bombay HC Reserves Verdict on Sohrabuddin Fake Encounter Appeal
The Bombay High Court has reserved its decision on an appeal against the acquittal of 22 people accused in the 2005 fake encounter case of gangster Sohrabuddin Shaikh and his aide Tulsiram Prajapati.
The brothers of Sohrabuddin filed the appeal, claiming the trial was not fair and asking for a new trial.
The special court had acquitted all 22 accused in 2018, saying there wasn't enough evidence.
The CBI, which investigated the case, agreed with the acquittal and did not challenge it.
The High Court heard the appeal in September 2025 and will now decide on it.
