Simpsons Writer Dan Greaney Launches 2028 Republican Presidential Bid
Dan John Greaney is a comedy writer who helped write The Simpsons.
He wrote a 2000 episode showing Donald Trump as a former president in the future.
Some people say this looked like a prediction because Trump later became president.
Greaney says the episode was really about his beliefs, not a prophecy.
On May 26, he announced that he wants to run for president in 2028.
He is seeking the Republican nomination but calls himself a progressive Republican.
His campaign slogan is “America for all.”
He says family values, concern about corruption, and events after 2016 encouraged him to enter politics.
Dan John Greaney announced his candidacy for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination on May 26.
Greaney wrote the 2000 Simpsons episode “Bart to Future,” which depicted Donald Trump as a former president.
The 60-year-old comedy writer describes himself as a progressive Republican in the tradition of Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
His campaign message is “America for all,” influenced by his stated opposition to corruption and bullying.
Greaney has written for The Simpsons, The Office, and Borat, and previously worked as an attorney.
