Indian Firms' Market Value Surges Over ₹2 Lakh Crore
Imagine the biggest companies in India have price tags, and these price tags represent how much people think they are worth.
Last week, the price tags on eight out of the ten biggest companies got much bigger!
Together, their total worth increased by more than 2 lakh crore rupees.
Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries had the biggest increases.
Some companies, like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank, also became more valuable.
However, two companies, Bajaj Finance and Life Insurance Corporation of India, saw their price tags shrink a little.
On Friday specifically, the stock market was a bit flat, meaning prices didn't move up or down much, but overall, most of the biggest companies ended the week worth more.
The market capitalization of eight of the top 10 most valued Indian firms increased by over ₹2.05 lakh crore in the past week.
Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries were the biggest gainers, with market values rising by approximately ₹55,652 crore and ₹54,941 crore, respectively.
Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, HDFC Bank, and Hindustan Unilever also saw their market valuations increase.
Conversely, Bajaj Finance and Life Insurance Corporation of India experienced a decline in their market capitalizations.
On Friday, the Sensex and Nifty indices saw modest gains of 0.10% and 0.12% respectively.
