PoK Violence Escalates: 67 Dead as India Rejects Pakistan's Polls
There is a lot of violence happening in a place called Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, or PoK.
The Pakistani government is holding elections there, but many people, including a group called the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), think these elections are not fair.
They are protesting because they feel the elections are controlled by Pakistan and do not represent the people's true wishes.
The Pakistani military has been using force to stop these protests, and many people have been hurt or killed.
India, which is a neighboring country, does not think the elections are legitimate and says Pakistan is not giving the people of PoK their basic rights.
There are also protests in other parts of Pakistan, like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where people are demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Violence in PoK escalates with 67 reported deaths during elections.
Pakistan Army allegedly opens fire on civilians in Mirpur marketplace.
JAAC activists protest against the ban on their group and demand abolition of 12 seats in the legislative assembly.
India dismisses PoK elections as a 'cosmetic electoral exercise' and links unrest to denial of fundamental rights.
