Kerala Faces Severe Power Crisis
Kerala is having a big problem with electricity.
The state is using more power than ever before, but there isn't enough to go around.
The government says this is because there hasn't been enough rain, so the dams don't have enough water to make electricity.
The opposition party says the government isn't doing a good job of managing the electricity.
Because of this, some areas are having power cuts.
The government is trying to fix the problem, but it might take some time.
Kerala recorded its highest average daily electricity consumption in July in the last 10 years.
Power demand has risen by around 12% compared to the same period last year.
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has imposed power cuts in several parts of the state.
The government attributes the crisis to deficient rainfall and falling water levels in reservoirs.
The opposition alleges that the power cuts are 'man-made' and reflect the government's failure to address the growing electricity demand.
