US Conducts Large-Scale Strikes on ISIS in Syria
The US and its allies launched big attacks on ISIS in Syria.
This happened because ISIS hurt some American soldiers and a helper in a place called Palmyra.
The US used special bombs and planes to show that they will protect their people and punish those who hurt them.
The attacks were called Hawkeye Strike and started on December 19.
The US wants to send a strong message to ISIS and others who might try to harm them.
The attacks hit many ISIS targets across Syria.
The US and Jordan carried out more strikes in response to the Palmyra attack, hitting over 70 targets and killing at least five IS members.
Britain and France also conducted joint strikes targeting an underground facility used by ISIS.

The operation was directed by President Trump and carried out by CENTCOM alongside partner forces.
