Delhi Poll Body Says SIR Notices Do Not Mean Deletion

Delhi Poll Body Says SIR Notices Do Not Mean Deletion

Delhi is checking its voter list through a process called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

Some voters received notices because their information did not match older voter records or had possible errors.

The election office said a notice is only a request to check or correct information.

It does not automatically remove anyone from the voter list.

A voter must be allowed to respond and provide documents before a decision is made.

The Aam Aadmi Party says the process may be difficult or unfair for some people.

Election officials say voters can submit replies to local election officers.

People whose names are missing can apply to be added using Form 6.

The final voter list is expected on November 4, 2026.
