Suvendu Gives Bikash 24 Hours to Revise Vandalism Post
Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya said people attacked his home in Kolkata early on Thursday.
He said they threw a liquor bottle and broke a window, while a household worker narrowly avoided being hurt.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said a man had been arrested over the incident.
Bhattacharya called the alleged attackers “Hindutwawadi” in a social media post.
Adhikari said that wording hurt Hindus and gave Bhattacharya 24 hours to remove or change it.
Police also registered two cases against Bhattacharya over the post.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari gave CPI(M) leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya 24 hours to remove or change a post describing the alleged attackers as “Hindutvawadi” goons.
Bhattacharya said the attack happened at about 5 a.m. Thursday at his Kolkata home, where liquor bottles were allegedly thrown and a window was broken.
Adhikari said a man identified as alleged Trinamool Congress worker Bappa Guchhait was arrested in connection with the attack.
Police registered two FIRs against Bhattacharya over his remarks, following a complaint by a right-leaning outfit.
Adhikari said Kolkata Police could ask the social media platform to remove the post if Bhattacharya did not edit or delete it.
