Ganga River Water Quality Safe After Maha Kumbh 2025
The Ganga River's water stayed clean during the Maha Kumbh festival in 2025, according to the government.
Tests were done at eight spots, checking things like oxygen levels and bacteria, all of which were safe.
This good result is thanks to special cleaning systems set up for the event.
These included temporary drains and treatment plants.
After the festival, everything was cleaned up.
The government also shared that a program called Namami Gange is helping to clean the river by reducing pollution.
Ganga water quality remained within safe limits during and after Maha Kumbh 2025.
Monitoring was conducted at eight key locations by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Parameters like pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Faecal Coliform (FC) were within acceptable limits.
Sanitation and wastewater management systems were implemented during the Mela.
The Namami Gange Programme has made substantial progress in pollution reduction.
