Andhra Pradesh Moves to Introduce Advocates' Protection Bill, 2026
The government in a place called Andhra Pradesh wants to make a new law to keep lawyers safe and help them.
The new law will be called the Advocates' Protection Bill, 2026.
A law is a rule that everyone must follow.
The minister in charge told government workers to write the law quickly.
Before the law can become official, other experts must check it.
Then the state's leaders must say yes to it.
After that, it will be introduced in the state Legislature.
The government also already helps families of lawyers who have passed away.
It gave money to 1,173 families, with four lakh rupees given to each family.
The government says this shows it cares about protecting people who work in law.
The Andhra Pradesh government has begun drafting the Advocates' Protection Bill, 2026, aimed at safeguarding advocates and strengthening their welfare.
Law and minority welfare minister N. Md. Farooq directed Law Secretary Pratibha Devi to prepare the draft on priority and hold consultations with departments concerned.
The draft Bill will be examined by the advocate general and the finance department before being placed before the state Cabinet for approval.
The coalition government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, said it is committed to ensuring the protection and welfare of advocates across the state.
Financial assistance of ₹46.92 crore has been extended to families of 1,173 deceased advocates, with ₹4 lakh provided to each bereaved family.
