India’s Foodgrain Management Modernised Through DFPD-FCI Performance MoU

India’s food department and the Food Corporation of India signed a new agreement.

The agreement is for the financial year 2026–27.

It sets goals for storing and moving foodgrains more efficiently.

It aims to reduce losses and make better use of storage space.

It also asks the organisation to use more digital tools and modern technology.

The agreement includes stronger checks on food quality and depot performance.

Some depot goals will be measured using the Depot Darpan Portal.

FCI employees will receive training to use newer systems.

These changes are intended to help manage public food supplies more effectively.
