HC Orders IMC to Approve YC's Building Plan
The Yeshwant Club in Indore wanted to build a new building, but the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) wouldn't approve the plan because of a property tax dispute.
The club had already paid part of the tax as ordered by the court.
The High Court said the club should be allowed to build the new building, and the IMC should process the approval.
The court also said any new tax from the new building should be paid by the club.
Madhya Pradesh High Court directed IMC to process approval of Yeshwant Club's new building map.
IMC had refused approval due to a pending property tax dispute dating back to 2020-21.
Club had deposited more than 30% of the demanded Rs 69 lakh property tax as per court's interim order.
Court observed that new construction should not be stalled based on earlier disputes.
IMC was directed to activate the portal and proceed with processing the building map.
