Gurugram luxury housing launches fall 28% as prices moderate

In the first half of 2026, builders in the Indian city of Gurugram made 28% fewer fancy new homes than they did the year before.

Instead of building more, they chose to sell the expensive homes they had already made.

Prices of the big, luxury homes also stopped climbing as fast as before, going up only 2% compared to last year.

For three years before this, prices had been rising very quickly.

Some areas grew more than others, like the one near Dwarka Expressway, where prices of finished homes went up 6%.

The cost of renting a home in Gurugram went up by 10%, and the price of empty plots of land went up by 11%.

In the nearby city of Delhi, prices of small houses called independent floors went up by 15%.

A report by the experts at Savills India says the market should stay steady for the rest of 2026.

They think prices will not suddenly crash because people still want to buy and rent these homes.
