DoT Allocates Spectrum for Vehicle Communication
The Department of Telecommunications in India has given a special radio frequency to help cars talk to each other.
This is called vehicle-to-vehicle communication.
It will help cars share information like speed and location, which can warn drivers about sudden brakes or dark spots on the road.
The system will first be installed in new cars and later in older ones.
It costs about Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 to install.
This technology is expected to make driving safer by reducing accidents.
DoT allocated 30 GHz spectrum for V2V communication systems.
V2V communication aims to reduce road accidents and fatalities.
The system allows vehicles to share real-time information like speed and location.
Initial cost of installation is estimated between Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000.
The technology will first be fitted in new vehicles and later mandated for older ones.
