Sagar Joshi Built Law Prep Tutorial Into Edtech Giant
Sagar Joshi started teaching students for law entrance exams in a small basement in Jodhpur in 2001.
He noticed that many students wanted to study law but did not have organized coaching.
His wife, Anupama Joshi, helped build the institute from the beginning.
The company grew using student fees instead of outside investment.
It now has more than 60 centres and online learning tools.
During the pandemic, it added an app, a learning system and computer-based test analysis.
The institute says its students achieved more than 1,600 National Law University selections in CLAT 2026.
It is now expanding into other entrance tests and planning more centres.
Sagar Joshi founded Law Prep Tutorial in a Jodhpur basement in 2001 after identifying a gap in law-entrance preparation.
The bootstrapped institute now operates more than 60 centres across 18 states and has trained over 1.5 lakh students.
Law Prep Tutorial reported more than 1,600 NLU selections in CLAT 2026, including 42 students among the top 100 AIRs.
The institute expanded into digital learning during the 2020 pandemic and later added judiciary, CAT, IPMAT and CUET preparation.
Law Prep Tutorial reported ₹51 crore in bookings in Q1 FY 2026-27 and plans to open 20 centres across 15 cities by Q3.
