Court Extends Custody of Al Falah Chairman in Money Laundering Case
A man named Jawad Ahmed Siddique, who is the chairman of a group called Al Falah, was arrested for allegedly laundering a lot of money.
The court has decided to keep him in custody until December 20.
The police think he might have tricked people by saying his university had special approvals it didn't have, and then took their money.
They also found a lot of cash and important documents when they searched his places.
The police want to keep him in custody to find out more about the crime and make sure he doesn't hide any money or talk to witnesses.
Saket District Court extended the judicial custody of Al Falah Group Chairman Jawad Ahmed Siddique until December 20 in a money laundering case.
Siddique was arrested on November 18 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for alleged money laundering involving over Rs 400 crores.
The ED claims that Siddique misrepresented the university's accreditation and UGC status to attract admissions and fees fraudulently.
Searches at 19 locations recovered Rs 48 lakh in cash, digital devices, and financial records.
The court justified the custody extension due to the seriousness of the allegations and the need to trace further proceeds of crime.
