Indian Woman Fined ₹1.3 Lakh After Shower Steam Triggers Alarm

Indian Woman Fined ₹1.3 Lakh After Shower Steam Triggers Alarm

An Indian woman in Australia took a shower in her apartment.

After about five minutes, the building’s fire alarm began ringing.

She first wondered whether there was a fire drill.

A building manager then came to her apartment because the alarm had been activated there.

The woman said hot steam from the shower may have triggered the alarm.

She also admitted that she had not switched on the bathroom exhaust fan.

She later said she was fined $1,800, which is about ₹1.3 lakh.

Some people blamed the missing ventilation, while others questioned the alarm’s location and sensitivity.
