SIT Questions Former TTD Chairman in Parakamani Theft Case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is looking into a theft that happened at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala.
A former chairman of the temple's board, B. Karunakar Reddy, has been asked to come and give his statement.
The theft involved a temple employee, Ravi Kumar, who was caught stealing money in April 2023.
The case was initially settled, but a petition was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court asking for a detailed investigation.
The High Court has ordered the SIT to look into the matter and has also provided security to the petitioner.
Recently, a person involved in the case, Y. Satish Kumar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
The SIT has been questioning various officials, including former TTD board member Pokala Ashok Kumar and former vigilance officer Giridhar, to understand how the case was handled and the decisions made by the board.
