Gulf Oil to invest ₹55 crore to expand lubricant capacity

Gulf Oil makes lubricants used in vehicles and machines.

It plans to spend ₹55 crore to make about 70% more lubricants.

The new capacity will be added at factories in Chennai and Silvassa.

The Chennai work may finish by December, and the Silvassa work is targeted for March.

Gulf says its factories are already working nearly three shifts a day.

The company expects demand for its products to keep growing.

It is focusing on higher-priced synthetic and semi-synthetic lubricants.

Gulf is also developing environment-friendly oils and electric-vehicle businesses.

Its EV subsidiary Tirex earned more than ₹100 crore in FY26.
