Gujarat Distributes Over 5 Crore Textbooks for New Academic Year
The Gujarat State School Textbook Board has sent out over 5 crore textbooks to schools before the new school year starts.
A big part of these books, about 4.5 crore, are free for students from Classes 1 to 12, thanks to government programs.
Another 65 lakh books are for sale.
The books for older students, in Classes 9 to 12, arrived at schools before the summer break was over.
The saleable books are being distributed in three parts, and people can also buy them directly from a special depot if they can't find them in stores.
This ensures students have the books they need when school starts.
Gujarat distributed over 5.15 crore textbooks ahead of the new academic session.
4.5 crore free textbooks were provided to students in Classes 1-12 under government schemes.
65 lakh textbooks were available for sale through registered distributors.
Textbooks for Classes 9-12 were delivered to schools at the taluka level before the vacation ended.
Saleable textbooks are being distributed in three phases and are available at the Nirnay Nagar Sales Depot.
