BCCI Introduces Major Rule Changes for 2026-27 Season
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some big changes to the rules for the 2026-27 domestic cricket season.
They've made the penalties for bowlers who deliberately bowl no-balls much stricter.
Now, if a bowler is caught doing this, they'll be suspended for the rest of the match, not just the innings.
The BCCI has also decided that the final over of a match must be completed, even if a wicket falls during it.
This means teams can't just walk off the field if a wicket is taken before the over is finished.
Another big change is that teams can't forfeit the final innings of a match anymore.
This is to stop teams from trying to fix the results.
These changes are based on rules made by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in London.
The new rules will start with the Duleep Trophy next month.
It's not clear yet if these changes will be applied to the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has its own set of rules.
