PAU to Hold Kisan Melas Amidst Floods, Focus Shifts
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is hosting farmer fairs called Kisan Melas this month, despite the recent floods.
These fairs are where farmers can buy high-quality seeds for the upcoming planting season and learn about new farming techniques.
Usually, these fairs are a big event with entertainment, but this year, PAU will keep things simple out of respect for the farmers affected by the floods.
The university will also give wheat seeds to farmers who were hit by the floods at the lowest prices.
These seeds will be distributed by identifying the farmers through local authorities to ensure the seeds go to those in need.
PAU is holding Kisan Melas for the rabi sowing season despite recent floods.
The melas will focus on selling seeds and sharing agricultural technology.
Wheat seeds, considered of high quality, are sold at affordable rates.
Some regional fairs are cancelled due to the floods.
PAU will provide wheat seeds to flood-hit farmers at lowest rates.
