Heavy Rain Threatens Floods Across Northern And Central India

Heavy Rain Threatens Floods Across Northern And Central India

A weather system is bringing a lot of rain to many parts of India.

Southern Uttar Pradesh and northeastern Madhya Pradesh are at the center of the system.

Some places in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh could get extremely heavy rain.

The rain may cause water to rise quickly in several districts.

East Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh have been warned about flash floods.

Low-lying places and already wet ground could become flooded.

Eastern and northeastern India are also expected to stay wet through 1 September.

Rainfall is expected to be weaker in much of peninsular India, though some showers may still occur.
