Shah Rukh Khan Advised Russell's IPL Retirement

Andre Russell, a famous cricket player, decided to retire from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after 12 seasons with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

The idea to retire and stay with the team as a coach came from Shah Rukh Khan, who is one of the team's owners.

Russell found it hard to keep performing at his best because of the tough physical and mental demands of the IPL.

The KKR CEO, Venky Mysore, shared that Russell was happy with his new role as a 'power coach' and has accepted his decision.

This change happened before the IPL 2026 mini auction.
