Bypoll Counting Begins Across Four Regions Amid Political Tests
Votes are being counted in six special elections across four regions of India.
Five contests are for seats in state assemblies, and one is for a seat in the national parliament.
The seats are in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Assam.
Political parties and leaders will learn whether voters support them in these contests.
In West Bengal, the elections are an early test for the BJP-led government.
In Tamil Nadu, the contests follow two former AIADMK legislators leaving their party and joining the ruling TVK.
Nagaon's main candidates are from the BJP, Congress and AIUDF.
The articles report turnout figures and some concerns about polling, but do not give the results.
