EU–India Agri-Food Trade Expected to Double by 2032

EU–India Agri-Food Trade Expected to Double by 2032

India is processing more of its farm products instead of selling them as raw materials.

The share of food being processed has risen from about 3–4% to 16–17% in the past decade.

Officials think it could reach 25–30% by 2030.

People are also buying more healthy, premium and international foods.

Indian and European businesses may work together through joint ventures and technology partnerships.

A planned India–EU trade agreement could reduce tariffs and make buying and selling easier.

Trade in farm and food products between the EU and India is now about €5 billion.

Officials believe it could grow to €10 billion by 2032.
