NCCF Sells Subsidized Onions at Rs 19/kg in Delhi-NCR
The National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) has started selling onions at a lower price of Rs 19 per kg in Delhi and nearby areas.
This is much cheaper than the usual price of Rs 25-35 per kg.
The onions come from Nashik in Maharashtra and are stored using special technology to keep them fresh.
The NCCF is doing this to help people buy onions at a fair price and also to make sure farmers get a good deal.
They are selling these onions at many places, including big markets and metro stations.
Earlier, they also sold tomatoes at a lower price to help people.
The NCCF plans to sell other food items under their brand 'Janah' at affordable prices.
NCCF starts selling onions at Rs 19/kg in Delhi-NCR, below market price of Rs 25-35/kg.
Onions sourced from Nashik, Maharashtra, stored using controlled-atmosphere cold storage with irradiation technology.
Sale locations include Nehru Place, major metro stations, and 16 other areas across Delhi-NCR.
Initiative by Union Consumer Affairs Ministry to protect consumers and ensure fair returns for farmers.
